Second Annual Courageous Truth Award
Nominations for Innocence Matters Second Annual Courageous Truth Award are now open. We invite you to nominate an extraordinary individual who has courageously followed the truth wherever it led him or her, no matter how painful or inconvenient it might have been. Nominations will remain open through February 24, 2012. The Innocence Matters Board will hold a special meeting to choose which nominee will receive the award and will announce our decision on March 1, 2012. The 2012 recipient will be honored at our Courageous Truth Award ceremony, tentatively scheduled for April 16, 2012. Event details will be posted here by March 15, 2012.

The ideal nominee for this award is someone who:

- took extraordinary steps to fight for the truth;
- in the face of significant opposition and/or pressure to conform;
- which resulted in bringing us all closer to the truth; and
- whose story inspires us all to be better people.

Interns Stephanie Cho and Diana Guerrero are co-chairing our Courageous Truth Award and Hungry for Justice Planning Committees this year.
